Australians win 3 major awards at the World Quilt Competition 2012

When prizes were announced for the World Quilt Competition XVI in August at the World Quilt Show New England in Manchester, New Hampshire, 3 Australian quilters were among the top award winners.

Innovative First was awarded to Julie Haddrick for her quilt Forever Journey- Eat, Play, Love, Stay. Denise Griffiths was given an Honorable Mention in this category for her quilt Amongst the Eucalypts.

Best of Country Australia went to Linda Steele for Eastern Elements.

Innovative Best Hand Workmanship went to Carolyn Sullivan for Three Views.

Traditional, Best Machine Workmanship was won by Margaret McDonald and Susan Campbell for Amazed.

13 quilts represent Australia during the tour in the United States of America and are still to be seen at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza in Pennsylvania during September, the Pacific International Quilt Festival Santa Clara California in October and at the World Quilt Show Florida in November.
